A ceremony is planned for next Thursday morning to mark the opening of the Boulder City Bypass.
The public is invited to witness the official opening of the 15-mile stretch of Interstate 11, which is just the beginning of the freeway.
The interstate will eventually connect Las Vegas to Phoenix.
Construction began on the $318-million project in the spring of 2015.
