Judge Rules Nevada Pimp Can Reopen Brothel In Nye County
LAS VEGAS (AP) — A judge has ruled that Nevada's most famous legal pimp can re-open his brothel in Nye County Tuesday.
Dennis Hof sued after his Love Ranch brothel near Pahrump was shuttered earlier this month as Nye County officials said the pimp and GOP state legislative candidate failed to renew his licenses and pay fees.
The Las Vegas Sun reports Judge Richard Boulware on Monday noted other Nye County brothels were similarly late paying fees but were not punished. Boulware also noted two county commissioner's votes to yank Hof's license could have in retaliation for separate lawsuits he has filed against them.
The brothel can reopen 8 a.m. Tuesday.
Hof called the county's action "political retribution" and estimated he lost $100,000 in the three-week closure.
Nye County spokesman Arnold Knightly says officials will look at revamping its licensing process.
