ELY, Nev. (AP) — The Ely Airport reported a record .66 inches of rain Sunday in eastern Nevada, where total precipitation for the month of February was more than twice the normal amount.

The old record for the date was .61 set in 1992.

The National Weather Service said Monday total February precipitation at Ely about 30 miles west of the Utah line was 1.75 inches. That's the seventh wettest on record and 235 percent of normal.

Elko had its fourth wettest February. The 2.51 inches was 148 percent of normal.
