Nevada Prison Officials: 65-Year-Old Inmate Dies Behind Bars

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Prison officials in Nevada say a 65-year-old man who spent the last 22 years of his life in prison for sexual assault has died behind bars.

The state Department of Corrections says Curtis Perry died Saturday in a medical facility at Northern Nevada Correctional Center in Carson City.

A cause of death wasn't immediately disclosed. An autopsy was scheduled.

Perry had been sentenced in Las Vegas in 1996 to five years to life with the possibility of parole.
