LAS VEGAS (AP) — A cold front moving through Las Vegas could bring winds strong enough to topple power lines and small trees.
The National Weather Service in Las Vegas says the area could see winds of up to 65 mph Tuesday.
The agency has issued a high wind warning encouraging people to secure trash cans, lawn furniture and other loose or lightweight outdoor items.
The gusts and blowing dust could create difficult driving conditions.
The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada is urging people to use caution while driving on Interstate 15 near Primm, where dust is expected to reduce visibility.
Weather Service Meteorologist Jenn Varian says temperatures will reach 83 degrees Tuesday but will drop Wednesday, when the high is expected to be 71 degrees.
