LAS VEGAS (AP) — A lawyer for rancher Cliven Bundy says he'll appeal a Nevada judge's refusal to declare that the federal government has no jurisdiction over public land in the state.
Washington-based activist attorney Larry Klayman said Wednesday the state Supreme Court should be as upset as him that Clark County District Court Judge Jim Crockett derided Bundy's request as "delusional."
Klayman says judges aren't allowed to demean litigants.
Crockett's ruling came after the nonprofit Center for Biological Diversity pointed to three previous federal court cases that Bundy lost, all based on a similar challenge of U.S. government control of land where Bundy grazes cattle.
A new Bundy lawsuit filed last August said President Barack Obama's creation in December 2016 of Gold Butte National Monument near Bundy's property amounts to a new development in the case.
