Harris Picks Up 2nd Nevada Endorsement From Ex-County Chair

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris has picked up a second endorsement in Nevada from former Clark County Democratic Party chair Chris Miller.

Miller said in a statement Monday that he's backing the California senator because of her support for the middle class and fight for civil rights and criminal justice reform. He called her "the fighter America needs to move our country in a new direction."

Miller led the county party in the Democratic stronghold of Las Vegas for six years, starting in 2011.

He joins Nevada Democratic state Sen. Pat Spearman, who earlier announced she was backing Harris.

Only a few Democratic presidential candidates have picked up endorsements so far in Nevada, the third-in-line early voting state for the party.

Former Obama administration housing chief Julian Castro was endorsed by Nevada Democratic Assemblyman Edgar Flores in March.
