CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Gov. Steve Sisolak has appointed business lawyer Rosa Solis-Rainey to serve on the Nevada Gaming Commission.
The Democratic governor's office announced the pick Tuesday.
Sisolak in a statement called Solis-Rainey a "highly experienced litigator" who has been involved in complex legal issues.
She's a managing partner at the Las Vegas firm Morris Law Group and represents businesses in commercial disputes.
She has experience with gambling law and spent almost a decade serving in management roles at Boyd Gaming Corporation.
Solis-Rainey replaces Sandra Douglass Morgan, who earlier this year became the chair of the state Gaming Control Board, which regulates the gaming industry.
The commission serves as the state's final authority on gambling licenses and acts as a judge on sanctions when the board believes a licensee should be disciplined.
