Henderson Police Officer Shoots 15-Year-Old Robbery Suspect

HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) — Police say a robbery suspect shot by a police officer in suburban Las Vegas is a 15-year-old boy who was unarmed.

Henderson Police Lt. Kirk Moore says an officer confronted the teen after he robbed a 7-Eleven store Tuesday.

Moore says the teen refused the officer's command and had an object in his hands.

The teen was shot once in the arm. He was taken to a hospital and has since been released to police custody.

The officer has been placed on paid administrative leave, which is routine in police shootings.

Police are not releasing the teen's name due to his age.
