Nevada Donor Network Loses Accreditation For Eye Tissue
The Nevada Donor Network is no longer accredited to procure and distribute eye tissue after finding and reporting what it calls “process gaps” in its recordkeeping.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the nonprofit organization suspended its eye bank operations when it found the errors in April.
The Eye Bank Association of America withdrew accreditation in June.
Association CEO Kevin Corcoran says no adverse outcomes have been found in any patients.
The Nevada Donor Network said in a statement it’s taking “the necessary steps to retrain staff and replace leadership while working collaboratively with regulatory agencies to satisfy improvement requirements.”
