Presidential Hopeful Julian Castro Meets With Teachers, Students At Western High

Democratic presidential candidate Julian  Castro was in Las Vegas Tuesday, where he met with a group of Clark County School District staff and students at Western High School.

Their roundtable discussion touched on several issues, including chronic absenteeism.

Castro said he believes in having incentives and not punishment for families of students who are dealing with truancy.

The conversation did not delve into the possibility of a teachers’ strike.
