CCSD Unable To Reach Thousands Of Students In First Week Of School Closures

The Clark County School District was unable to contact thousands of students after schools closed due to the coronavirus outbreak.

According to data provided to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, 67,000 students could not be contacted by a teacher or administrator from March 23 through March 29, which is when the district rolled out its distance learning plan.

The state Department of Education has directed teachers to contact their students at least once a week.

The district was able to contact 257,486 students.

The district did not provide the newspaper a timeline on when second-week data would be available.
