CCSD Proposes In-Person And Remote Learning For When Schools Reopen

Classes would combine in-person and online instruction when the Clark County School District reopens schools August 24, the Las Vegas Sun reports.

The district’s plan calls for class sizes to be limited by having each student at the school two days a week and learning at home for two others.

No students would be in the schools on Wednesdays, which would be a day for deep cleaning.

The proposal to reopen amid the coronavirus pandemic stresses providing a clean, safe and healthy educational environment for students and staff.

The Clark County Education Association, the teacher’s union, said it would be difficult to be an effective teacher while balancing the two modes of teaching.

It also called for all teachers and staff to be tested for COVID-19. The school board will discuss the plan next week.
