School Board Discusses CCSD School Re-Opening Plan

Last night, the Clark County School Board discussed the district's plan to partially reopen schools for the upcoming academic year.

In its current form, the plan involves a blend of in-person and distance learning across three categories of students.

Superintendent Jesus Jara admitted the plan is “not optimal,” but said it is “sound,” telling trustees “time is of the essence” for passing along instructions to school administrators.

Nevada’s school districts face budget uncertainty at the state level. Much of the CCSD plan leans on anticipated federal COVID-19 relief funds.

The board is expected to vote on a final back-to-school plan July 9.
