Monument For Bicyclists Killed In Nevada Last Month Unveiled

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A monument for five bicyclists killed last month in a highway crash near Searchlight has been unveiled.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that the memorial is a five-person tandem bicycle painted white.

The memorial revealed Saturday will stay in the Summerlin area for at least a month before it will be moved to the southeast valley.

Family members and survivors from the Dec. 10 crash signed the white memorial, which has handlebars painted in the favorite color of each victim.

An Arizona truck driver is accused of crashing the box truck he was driving into a group of recreational bicyclists from Las Vegas making an annual ride through the desert on U.S. Highway 95.
