California Remains Under Flood, Blizzard Watches From Storm

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — A storm that pounded Northern California with rain, snow, wind and mud is rolling southwards, prompting flood warnings and threats of mudslides in areas burned bare by wildfires.

An atmospheric river of moisture is expected to bring rain and winds of up to 50 mph into Saturday. The storm first hit the north Tuesday and Wednesday, sending mud flowing from burn areas.

A slide near Salinas damaged about two dozen homes and one woman suffered broken bones. Flood and mud threats remain in portions of central and Northern California. And blizzard warnings are up along the California-Nevada border.
