Florence Rogers

Florence “Flo” Rogers is committed to realizing the mission of Nevada Public Radio in partnership with the staff and board of directors. She has worked in non-commercial media for 25 years, from KPBS San Diego to KRPS in Kansas. Joining Nevada Public Radio in 2001 as director of programming, she succeeded founder Lamar Marchese as general manager in 2007. Florence is in her second term as an NPR Member Director through 2017, and is past chair of the Leadership Council of the Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce.

A 1989 graduate of San Diego State University, Florence earned a master’s degree in radio, TV and film. Unintended consequences included becoming a published author on pop star Madonna and an alternative rock radio DJ. Her national network production and reporting credits include NPR’s “Morning Edition,” “All Things Considered” and “Studio 360.” She co-created the flagship public affairs program “KNPR’s State of Nevada”.

Born and raised on the Isle of Wight in England, she was proud to become a United States citizen in 2007.
