The Early Nuclear Age

The bomb has been around for nearly 65 years. But it only became a factor in defense thinking after it had ended World War Two in the Pacific with the attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. And that unleashed a force that drove much of American foreign policy in the Cold War era. We discuss that with historians Martin Sherwin and Mary Palevsky. They will be participating in a panel discussion at the Atomic Testing Museum tonight.
