Reno In Transition, Part One: Beyond Divorce And Gambling

Historically, Reno’s reputation has rested on gambling and divorce. And that’s the image of the city that many outside the state are left with.

In recent years, the city has been undergoing an economic and cultural shift, which we discuss with two people who have been involved in its evolution - writer and historian Alicia Barber and Mike Kazmierski of EDAWN, the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada. They join us from the studios of the Reynolds School of Journalism at UNR.

Alicia Barber, writer-historian, author. Author of "Reno's Big Gamble: Image and Reputation in the Biggest Little City"; Mike Kazmierski, president and CEO of EDAWN, the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada
