Imagine living in a house where the ceiling’s cracked, the pavement’s breaking up outside, doors don’t close right, and the whole place is slowly tilting. And, it’s been like that for years.
Now, imagine being told: You’re getting a brand-new home.
That’s the hope for residents of Windsor Park. This historically Black neighborhood in North Las Vegas has been dealing with sinking homes for decades. The main reasons: seismic and aquifer issues.
On July 2, the City of North Las Vegas approved a plan to build up to 93 new homes for Windsor Park families. Construction is set to start in August and wrap up in 2026.
Joining us is Nevada Senator Dina Neal who was behind the state bill that helped finance this project, and lead developer of the project, Frank Hawkins.
