What is the future of public media now that federal funding is ending?

This week, President Trump is expected to sign a rescission package intended to claw back more than one billion dollars meant to fund public media over the next two years.

The money would have been allocated to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting to support public radio and television stations nationwide. That includes Nevada Public Radio, where federal support makes up roughly eight percent of our annual operating budget.

So, now that Congress has followed through on the President’s request to end federal funding for public media, what’s the future of NPR and this station?
