What are politicos keeping their eyes on as the election draws near?

State of Nevada in Depth with Paul Boger
Rick Arevalo
/
Nevada Public Radio

For many Nevadans, there's a lot to be concerned about as they head to the polls. Nevada's economy has struggled to fully bounce back after the pandemic. Fuel costs and insurance costs are among the highest in the country. Grocery bills are higher than the national average. Housing prices have outpaced worker pay for years now. Then there are concerns over data centers, immigration, and even the future of American Democracy itself.

So, what does it all mean for voters and the candidates trying to earn those votes?

To learn more, KNPR’s State of Nevada recently sat down with a pair of political strategists and consultants: Keith Schipper, a former GOP spokesman who now runs his own political consulting firm, Hesperia Strategies; and Annette Magnus, formerly of Battleborn Progress, who now runs AM Solutions. Also joining us was longtime Nevada politics observer and commentator Sondra Cosgrove.

That conversation was the latest installment of our live event series, State of Nevada: In Depth.

Guests: Keith Schipper, political consultant, Hesperia Strategies; Annette Magnus, political consultant, AM Solutions; Sondra Cosgrove, history professor, College of Southern Nevada
