Nevada Sesquicentennial-Themed Corn Mazes Crop Up

Visitors to some of the state's cornfields will soon find themselves literally lost in Nevada history. Farms in Smith, Fallon and Winnemucca have carved out corn mazes in the shape of Nevada and its slogans to celebrate the state's 150th birthday. They include the Renner Farm Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch in Smith and the Nevada Maize Maze at Latin Farms in Fallon, which will feature educational exhibits about the state's history.

Other farms getting in on the sesquicentennial action include Lazy P Farm Festival in Winnemucca, Corley Ranch Pumpkin Patch in Gardnerville, the Andelin Family Farm Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze in Sparks and the Moapa Valley Corn Maze in Moapa.

Nevada turns 150 years old on October 31.
